PSAT/SAT Preparation WorkshopsInformation for Registered Participants On the first day of the workshop sessions, please meet promptly at 8:45 a.m. on The University of Arizona campus near the fountain in front of the Old Main Building. Once all of the participants have arrived, the instructor will lead the students to their classroom. If for any reason you are late or cannot make it to the fountain, please go directly to Room 111 in the Cesar Chavez Building. Please make every effort to be on time as the first practice test begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. Free parking is available at most surface lots and parking garages. The closest parking areas to the Old Main Building are the Second Street Parking Garage and the Main Gate Parking Garage. At times the Second Street Garage is not free due to special events (i.e. football and basketball games). You should check with UA Visitor Parking at (520) 621-3710 before each weekend. If you will be receiving a ride to and/or from the workshop, please use the Old Main Fountain as your drop-off and pick-up location. Please note that the first date of our workshops occurs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We recommend that students bring their lunches as there will be a short break following the practice test. Please do not plan on buying your lunch on campus. While there are places to buy food, the workshops are very tightly scheduled in order to cover all required material, and students will not have adequate time to buy their lunch and return before the next section begins. Students should also plan on bringing small snacks and something to drink for all workshop dates. During the first and last days of the workshop, students will take a practice SAT exam. Although we will provide all of the testing materials needed for each day of the workshop, you may want to bring the calculator you plan to use when you take the SAT exam. Also, please bring your own writing utensils and something to write with such as a notepad or loose-leaf paper each time you attend the workshop. If you have signed up for our workshops, please make a concerted effort to attend all four workshops. Absences greatly impact the effectiveness our program can have on the success of our participants. As a reminder, workshop instructors do not provide supervision either before or after the workshops or during breaks. Students are expected to behave as responsible visitors while on campus and to be respectful to instructors and their fellow classmates. Students that do not adhere to the behavioral guidelines outlined by the instructors will be asked to leave, and a refund will not be provided. We certainly look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals of preparing for a college education. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Early Academic Outreach at (520) 626-2300 or psat-sat-workshops@arizona.edu. Thank you. |
